If your last name is in the range Ali--Myers take the exam in the regular classroom, 101 Nat. Sci. Annex.
If your last name is in the range NAST--ZAHID take the exam in the overflow room, 130 Physical Sciences.

Discussion Sections: Tuesdays, 4:00--5:10pm in Baskin 372, and Wednesdays, 5:00--6:10 pm in Physical Sciences 110. The discussion sections start the first week of class.

Required Book: The book is Boas, "Mathematical Methods in the Physical Sciences". The same book will also be used for the remaining two courses in the series, Physics 116B and 116C.

Tutorial Service: A tutorial service for this class is being provided for class by Learning Support Services. The tutor is Eric Reichwein. It will be possible to sign up for a tutorials starting on January 14 at 10:00am. The tutorial service website is

Holidays. There will be no lecture on January 20 (Martin Luther Day) and February 17 (Presidents' Day).

Homework solutions: Howework solutions are password protected. The userid is 116A and the password has been emailed to the class. It will also be announced in class.

MIDTERM: In class, Monday, February 10. Will cover the material in Boas, Chapters 1, 2 and 11 (which corresponds to homework sets 1-4.)

FINAL EXAM: Thursday March 20, 12:00-3:00 pm.
